Urbandale, Dallas County, Iowa. Operating while intoxicated, first offense, dismissed after prosecution conceded that the stop of GRL Law's client's vehicle was illegal. Urbandale Police Department were "canvasing" the area following a 911 call regarding an attempted home invasion. Forty minutes later, GRL Law's client was leaving his house that happened to be in the neighborhood where the call came from. Law enforcement stopped his vehicle due to its proximity to the call despite information that would have shown law enforcement GRL Law's client would not have been associated with the incident. All evidence obtained as a result of the stop was suppressed. Client's driving privileges were reinstated and all criminal charges were dismissed.
