Boating While Intoxicated Charge amended to Simple Misdemeanor boating violation

Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. GRL Law client was charged with boating while intoxicated, facing thousands in fines and mandatory jail time.  GRL Law attorney Grant Gangestad successfully argued that the case was controlled by a prior Iowa Supreme Court decision secured by Mr. Gangestad, State v. Pettijohn, which was won in July 2017. The prosecution agreed and dismissed the OWI.  The client instead pled guilty to a simple boatinng violation.  His boating privileges were spared, hundreds in fines were saved, and no jail time was served.
