Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Drug Trafficking charges for Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Deliver and Tax Stamp violations that arose out of a traffic stop on Interstate 80 were reduced to a simple misdemeanor offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia the day before hearing on Client's motion to suppress evidence. GRL Law challenged the Deputy's right to expand a stop for speeding into a criminal investigation and also challenged the Deputy's warrantless search of client's trunk. After reviewing the case, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the felony allegations and allow client to plead guilty to a simple misdemeanor with a small fine.
