Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. District Court Judge ruled that the State of Iowa failed to prove that the cash taken from GRL Law's client during a traffic stop was subject to forfeiture. The Judge noted that the State failed to show that the seized money had the required substantial connection to criminal activity to give rise to civil forfeiture. Consequently, the County and law law enforcement agency that took our client's money was ordered to return it and pay the court costs associated with the action.
