Robbery 1st Amended to Misdemeanors

Story City, Polk County, Iowa.  Robbery in the First Degree charge was amended following discovery depositions to two misdemeanor violations with an agreement for probation.  Robbery 1st is a Class B forcible felony, which means if the defendant is convicted a judge is required to send them to prison for a term not to exceed 25 years.  Robbery 1st also carries with it the 70% requirement, meaning that a person is not eligible for parole until 70% of their sentence is served.  Thankfully, discovery revealed that the required elements to prove Robbery did not exist and a plea agreement was reached to misdemeanor violations and probation.
