Ames, Story County, Iowa. Officer claimed that GRL Law's client was weaving as he was driving down Highway 30 in Ames. The officer also claimed that GRL Law's client was slow to provide license, registration and proof of insurance and that our client was generally slow and lethargic. The officer's squad car video demonstrated good driving and his body camera proved that our client was alert and responsive to the officer's requests. The judge concluded that the stop and detention of GRL Law's client after the stop were illegal and violated his constitutional rights. All evidence obtained as a result of the stop was thrown out of court. Driving privileges will be reinstated and the operating while intoxicated and possession or drug charges will be dismissed.
