Montezuma, Poweshiek County, Iowa. A young man’s family was not comfortable with their son’s current attorney’s willingness to take the operating while intoxicated charge to trial. They wanted a second opinion and called GRL Law. GRL Law agreed to take the case over, refused to move the trial date and prepared the case for trial. During preparation for trial GRL Law discovered that the prosecution had improperly subpoenaed the client’s medical records following the accident. A motion to dismiss was filed and the day before trial was set to start the prosecution agreed to amend the operating while intoxicated charge to a simple misdemeanor offense of minor in possession of alcohol. Having a lawyer who is willing, able and eager to take a case to trial can and does make a big difference.
