Personal Consultation Request Denied by Jail – License Saved and OWI Conviction Avoided

Decorah, Winnishiek County, Iowa.  GRL Law's client, arrested for operating while intoxicated, requested to meet in person with his parents prior to making a decision to submit to or refuse the breath test at the police station.  While the officer understood that GRL Law's client had that right, the jail refused to honor or facilitate his request.  This resulted in a violation of client's right and as a result, the Iowa Department of Transportation could not revoke his driving privileges and an OWI criminal conviction was avoided.
