$3,190,852 Verdict in Federal Court – Holtkamp et al., v. Venture One, Inc., – GRL Law recovered more just under to 3.2 million dollars for the Plaintiffs, Kala Holtkamp, her son, K.H. and the family of Christopher Davis in a personal injury and wrongful death lawsuit arising out of a highway collision near Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Kala Holtkamp was driving at night with her fiancé, Christopher Davis, and her two year old son, K.H., when she collided with the rear of a semi-truck driven by Vanya Ilieva Atanasova. Davis was killed, K.H. was seriously injured, and Holtkamp fractured a vertebra in her neck. The case proceeded to trial and a jury found the defendant Atanasova negligent and repsonsible for Plainitff’s injuries and damages. The defendants appealed and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the jury’s verdict and required the defendant’s to pay.
